A resume is the most important component in any job search. Having a resume that says what you want about yourself and your accomplishments is vital to the process. A resume is the employers first look at you. Like all first impressions, it must reflect an image that portrays the very best in you. To send an employer anything less than the best is doing a great disservice to both you and your potential employer.

Transferable Skill Sets

The identification of transferable skill sets is one the most difficult aspects of resume development. Transferable skills are skills that are acquired in a past employment situations and can be transfered into a sometimes completely different job. Most people have a very weak appreciation for the skills they possess. Recalling past work or school situations can usually bring out situations that help identify acquired skills. Past situations are also a effective way to identify accomplishments.
